The Story
The new $20.6 billion North Carolina budget is currently on Gov. Pat McCrory’s desk awaiting his consideration. If approved, the new budget would cover spiraling Medicaid costs, cut funding for education, end teacher tenure, give vouchers to some families who want to send their children to private schools, and compensate victims of the state’s defunct sterilization program. Opponents say the cuts to education are too severe. Supporters say it moves the state in the right direction. (Source: News14.Com)
I’m pretty sure that the new budget will be approved. Seems like the axe is about to fall on education here in our state and in a lot of ways it’s our fault. Check out the latest Hey Tru! Comic “Pole Dancers For Education: A School Fundraiser.”
